And it never fails to start with fixing a specific date of move in mind and going back into it. Everything keeps on track by a simple checklist that has the tasks to be done on a weekly basis such as: when to start packing, hiring movers, Disconnecting utilities, etc.
Declutter Ruthlessly
Releasing those things that you do not require is one of the best things to do before packing. Old clothes, damaged furniture, surplus kitchenware- give it away, recycle or throw it. It is not worth spending money to relocate trash.
Make Utility Providers Aware in Advance
We make sure that, we cut the electricity, water and gas facilities and internet services on time at the old residence and open them on the new house. This prevents the popular nightmare of settling in a dark and detached house.
Update Addressee all over
Updating the address in significant locations such as bank, insurance, post office, Aadhaar/PAN (in case of need) along with the on-demand packages delivery applications will eliminate the chances of missing a bill or parcel. This is something that we constantly arrange at least one week before the move.
Show off a Professional Label Boxes
Each of the boxes is labeled by the room and contents as, “Kitchen- Glass Items-Fragile” or Bedroom- Bedsheets and Pillows. It might seem to be too much, yet this small measure saved hours of misunderstanding later.
Take a First-Night Buttons Kit
Each family can receive a survival box. It also contains toiletries, chargers, clothes, medicines, snack, water, bedsheets and simple utensils. Nobody wants to go through 10 boxes in order to locate a toothbrush after a long day of shifting.
Record Pictures of the Electronics Before Pulling the Plug
We take photographs of wires attached to TVs, router, or home theatres. These photos serve as mini-manual when arranging the new home, when time is limited.
Clean-up the New House
Before we move and before we change key, we organize a deep clean of the new space--this is really needed in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Actually, moving to a new clean house is not only comfortable but allows to eliminate last-minute hygienical surprises.
Make sure All Bookings 100% & Docs
It may be the moving crew or elevator reservation in a flat or even the entry pass to the society- we re-validate everything a day before the moving. It avoids lapse time and rush pandemonium.
Sleep A Little The Night Before
It might be a strange idea, but we have witnessed it in person: rested clients make the moving day much easier. And that is why we would always recommend that most of packing to be completed one day ahead of the day and sleep at night.
